Summary of the story
The Long Ballad, also known as Chang Ge Xing, is a Chinese historical series that premiered in 2021. It is an adaptation of the 2011 manhua of the same name by Xia Da. Directed by Zhu Ruibin, the series stars Dilraba Dilmurat, Leo Wu, Zhao Lusi, and Liu Yuning. Set in the Tang dynasty, specifically during the reigns of Emperor Gaozu and Emperor Taizong, the drama follows the story of an imperial princess who seeks revenge for her family. In her quest for vengeance, her fate becomes intertwined with that of a tribal prince. While the series incorporates real historical figures, the relationships between the characters and the plotlines are mostly fictional. The Long Ballad received recognition at the Chinese American Film Festival in 2021, with Dilraba Dilmurat (Li Changge) winning the Golden Angel Award and the series itself receiving the Golden Angel Award for Outstanding Television Series.
